Introduction
Playing varsity as a freshman the 6′ lefty experienced some nice success for Garinger High School. While shooting 48% from the field 13.7 points and 5 assists per game playing a very composed, but explosive game for the team.
Coming off of this season, Neal received an invite to the prestigious NC Top 80, where he showed well. He played his travel season with the Nike sponsored Team United program.
Positives
Neal is an extremely quick point guard who has a lightning first step. Neal appears very comfortable attacking the rim, as he is a consistent paint getter in all venues. While his shot at range is a bit inconsistent, Neal shows a consistent mid range jump shot that is tough to stop once he gets going.
Neal uses his quick feet and active hands to be a pesky on ball defender. He averaged nearly 2 steals per game throughout his high school year. All of his production and skills are natural
Room For Growth
Neal is still young in his game. As he continues to play, things such as offensive spacing and proper depth of penetration will become a little more natural for him. Neal has some inconsistencies in his jump shot.
Moving Forward
Neal had a big freshman year at Garinger, and then jumped into the conversation being invited to the NC Top 80 and performing well. Throughout his play during the summer, Neal picked up his consistency, his vision also expanded.
This year, Garinger graduated their 20 point scorer meaning this year it will be Neal’s team. Neal has it in him to track as a high level lead guard, more high level games and traingin will only enhance his game.
