Jimmy Sanders III is a very talented young player and one to watch in the 2017 class. We have evaluated him countless times in camp and AAU setting and he continues to improve and impress in every outing.
While Sanders is a little “undersized” for his position, he plays bigger than his listed height. What’s impressive about Sanders is his intangibles. He negates his size with a superb skill set, a high basketball IQ and a passion that is second to none. Sanders will always give you effort and he is always determined to make a positive impact on both ends of the court. He plays with a huge heart and has always been the team leader in every setting.
We really like his craftiness in the open court. Jimmy is terrific in changing speeds, stop and go and utilizing the stutter step and hesitation moves effectively and efficiently. He is constantly putting defensive pressure on the opposing team and uses his outstanding quickness to create havoc with his hawkish “on the ball” defense. In addition, don’t be surprised if Jimmy is not the first player driving on the floor for loose balls. Simply put, Jimmy makes things happen on both ends of the court.
On the offensive end, Sanders is so skilled especially with the ball in his hands. Simply put, he has the “ball on a string” and may be one of the best ball handlers in his class in North Carolina.
He sits low offensively while handling the ball, which makes him so difficult to guard. Sanders is exceptional in the pick and roll situation and has his head up always looking for the open teammate. While Sanders is a pass first facilitator, he has enough offensive scoring weapons to keep the defenses honest. If you leave him open, Sanders will bury the open 3-point jumper and if you get too close on him defensively, he has the ability to blow by you and utilizes his patented one hand running floater.
More than anything, Sanders is a true team leader. He leads by example and has an unselfish attitude. One can clearly see he enjoys the game and his passion makes him a crowd favorite.

#36 5’6 2017 Jimmie Sanders of Clayton, NC
Sanders left the day with all of the camp coaches raving about his leadership abilities. Low to the ground, Sanders is cat-quick with the ball in his hands and he has the ability to see the floor with his great vision. A consistent shooter to range, we would like to see Sanders develop his mid range arsenal. Sanders has a great motor and a high IQ on both ends of the floor.
