David Caraher
6’5/185/Wing
Chapel Hill HS (Chapel Hill, NC)
Team United 15U – RDU

Introduction
David Caraher started on varsity for his Chapel Hill High School team as a freshman. Playing up has been nothing new to him as he played 17U as both a 7th and 8th grader on the AAU circuit. His Chapel Hill High School team won its conference behind 16 points and 12 boards from the freshman.

Not only did Caraher excel on the court but he also takes academics very serious as he carries a 4.1 GPA into this year. Since participating in the NC Top 80, Caraher’s name is starting to travel being invited to multiple exposure camp. Caraher played this season for the Nike sponsored Team United RDU travel team.

Positives
The first thing that sticks out to you about Caraher are his frame and his motor. David has wide set shoulders and long arms that have the look for good growth along the way. Caraher is a team first guy, who is always talking and moving. He is a natural wing, but will bang and grind in the post if his team needs it.

Caraher loves the big stage and competing. In the semi finals of the Phenom Hoops Grind Session, playing up in the 16U age group, Caraher went for 38 points (from all over the floor) to advance his team to the championship. Right now, his most productive basketball is toward the basket. He has a great wing handle and a confident dribble pull up.

Room for Growth
While Charaher has a great frame and motor, he will need to continue to develop his foot speed. Also, while he makes a lot of shots, at a high rate, his range will need to be come more consistent.

Moving Forward
There is no denying that Caraher is on his way to some big accomplishments on the court. Entering his sophomore year, he already holds offers from Charlotte and Houston Baptist. He plays, and performs, at the highest level.

Caraher is not afraid of hard work, and will continue to improve his skill set. You pair that with the natural frame he has and you begin to see the ceiling that he possesses. Caraher is currently ranked as the #4 player in North Carolina’s 2017 class.
